Q: What activities do you offer?
A: We have story time, music, arts & crafts, lots of painting, learning games, puzzle play, walks, and outdoor play. These activities are child-led every time.
Q: What food do you serve the children? What's included?
A: We serve breakfast / morning snacks as well as afternoon snacks. We provide apples, bananas, grapes, watermelon, strawberries, yogurt, string cheese, cheese & crackers, graham crackers, muffins, waffles, pancakes, english muffins, and, of course, water.
Q: What makes your daycare unique?
A: Families choose to send their children to our daycare because we are child led. We have a schedule, but allow the children to show us when the schedule is not working. Families choose us because we don't just watch the kids, we play with them and soothe them. We learn about their families so we can understand them.
Q: What level of care does my child receive?
A: We make sure that the care of your child is our top priority. We take pride in keeping our facility clean for the children ALL the time. If they come inside after outdoor play and their face is dirty or their hair's not combed, we clean them up and comb their hair. We strive to be fun, caring, empathetic & loving, kind & gentle, and active. The kids are always busy because busy kids are happy kids.
Q: Why did you start a daycare?
A: We decided to start the daycare because of our love for children. We knew there was a high need for a safe place for kids, and to give children with disabilities a voice. We started daycare to allow working families to work and not have to worry about how their child is being treated. We allow the parents to focus on their work day without being stressed about the care their child is receiving while they're away. We pride ourselves in making sure each kiddo that is with us will be clean, have full bellies, and would be told that they are loved.
Q: What's a typical day like for my child?
A: A typical day here is the child arriving between 7:00 - 8:30 AM. Morning snack is around 8:45 AM, followed by circle time, stories, songs, and dancing. At 10:00 AM it is outside time until clean up for lunch. 11:30 AM is lunch time. 12:00 PM is nap / rest time. Between 2:00 - 2:30 PM it is wake up and reset with diapers. Between 2:15 - 4:30 PM is outside time, weather permitting. If indoors, the children will be doing various activities like puzzles, coloring, games, alphabet, days of the week, months of the year, etc. Following this is clean up and then time to go home!
Q: What's the supervision like here?
A: We always have at least one staff with eyes on at all times. Sometimes one staff member will be changing diapers while another one is playing or reading with the children. The children are always supervised at all times.
